Columbia University Irving Medical Center, NewYork-Presbyterian, and the New York State Psychiatric Institute have long had a special relationship with the Washington Heights and Inwood community.  To foster this bond, we created the Medical Center Neighborhood Fund in 1987, a voluntary donations effort made by employees of the three institutions.

By supporting the Neighborhood Fund, our faculty and staff help distribute critical grants to local nonprofit organizations that work, day-in and day-out, to provide food, shelter, clothing, day care, after-school programs, and recreational opportunities for people who would otherwise lack these essentials and services.  The program is administered by staff volunteers who review requests for funds and perform yearly site visits to monitor progress.

Please consider making a commitment to our neighbors through a paypal, check or payroll donation or by becoming a site visitor to see firsthand the wonderful work being done by our local community-based organizations.

Donations to the Medical Center Neighborhood Fund are tax-deductible.
