Bikes for Medical Workers

April 21, 2020

NYC Department of Transportation and NYC Economic Development Corporation are working together to match donated bikes with frontline workers around New York City who would prefer to commute or travel by bike at this time. We are working with local bike rental shops who have offered their fleets of bikes for loan or low-cost rental. Please let us know if anyone at your organization would be interested in borrowing or renting a bike at this time.

Organizations should email with the number of donated bikes they are interested in acquiring for their staff, staff heights (for best bike match) and indicate whether they are interested in bikes for loan or low-cost rental. We also have free helmets available (whether paired with a bike or for anyone who just wants a helmet).

Hospitals or employees within the current Citi Bike zones are also encouraged to take advantage of the Citi Bike Critical Workforce Membership Program, providing the first responder, healthcare, and transit workforce with a free month of Citi Bike membership. Employers should email to obtain enrollment information for their staff on the Citi Bike program.
