Haven Plaza Bollard Beautification Project Begins

In an effort to continue to incorporate open, green, and communal spaces in Washington Heights, the Haven Plaza Bollard Art Project will commence this weekend. Haven Plaza is part of New York City's larger plaza program to transform streets spaces into vibrant and accessible places. The art project will feature original designs from Washington Heights based artist Emily Perez who drew inspiration from the early landscape of upper Manhattan. Utilizing the native wildlife (some of which is currently incorporated at the plaza), Emily aims to encourage interactions around environmental stewardship, community and cultural identity. The Bollard Art Project will further that goal for the entire community and the wider public to enjoy.
